Tim's Story

Tim* first came to Samaritan Ministry's Southeast office two years ago, looking for assistance obtaining employment and vision care. Despite a few set backs, Tim has persisted in working toward his future goals.

Samaritan Ministry assisted Tim in obtaining food stamps, creating a resume, completing recommended health screenings, getting eye glasses and applying for health insurance. Samaritan Ministry also worked with Tim to provide math tutoring and transportation assistance.

Tim is still living at a shelter but recently became employed as a part-time cook. Tim hopes to use the income to pay off his DWI fines, get back his suspended license and regain possession of his car from his niece. With his maintained sobriety and optimism, Tim knows he has the all the tools to continue moving forward. He is excited to eventually have a place to call his own.
