Participants and Volunteers Celebrate Christmas Parties in SE, NW and NOVA

Partner parishes and schools mobilized to provide three wonderful Christmas celebrations at St. Philips Episcopal Church in Southeast, Christ Lutheran Church in Northwest and Trinity Episcopal Church in northern Virginia.

Due to the incredible generosity of our partners and donors, Samaritan Ministry gave 230 kids toys for Christmas this year. While the kids were engaged in crafts and other activities, parents, grandparents, and guardians visited "Santa's Shop” so they can pick out age appropriate toys they can wrap for Christmas Day.

In addition, Samaritan Ministry provided gift cards and clothes for 126 parents and adults who attended so they have something from Santa too. Now they can provide a Christmas dinner for their families.

The Rev. David B. Wolf, Executive Director, welcomed the participants and volunteers, welcomed Santa, and led Christmas carols. The children decorated cookies, colored and created miniature Christmas trees, made reindeer hats, and helped everyone get into the yule tide sprit with their playfulness and excitement.

What’s a Christmas party with-out Santa? The kids climbed into Santa’s lap, had plenty of time to tell him what they wanted and hoped for Christmas morning. Santa was in fine voice himself, walking through the crowd and spontaneously launching into Christmas carols.

On behalf of all our participants, we want to thank everyone who helped make these 2014 Christmas parties such a huge success!
