Samaritan’s 2024 Empower our Neighbors In Need (ENN) Campaign: Get Involved Today!

Empower our Neighbors in Need (ENN) is a vibrant annual grassroots campaign led mainly by Samaritan’s partner churches, schools, and their attendees to raise awareness about the critical challenges faced by our region’s most vulnerable residents.

Moreover, ENN plays a key role in mobilizing partner congregants and the wider community to join Samaritan in being a part of the solution — either through critical financial donations, drives for crucial in-kind donations of toiletries and food, or transformational voluntary service.

But you don’t need to belong to a partner organization to support this life-giving campaign! Anyone can make a financial contribution, donate in-kind items like toiletries and food, or lend your time as a volunteer!

The most common ENN events hosted by Samaritan partners are Samaritan Sundays, when the Rev. David B. Wolf, Samaritan’s Executive Director, and a veteran Samaritan participant bear witness to Samaritan’s mission and success during the Sunday sermon slot and/or at special talks or question-and-answer sessions before or after services.

Other events have included concerts, community walks, ice cream socials — the possibilities are endless!

An additional option is a service project at one of Samaritan’s four offices — the Episcopal Diocese of Washington (EDOW) young adult ministry pictured above, for example, had a great morning of service at Samaritan’s Northwest office in March. The EDOW group repainted walls, reorganized closets and furniture, and learned about Samaritan and the issues that our participants face. Another different group installed a community garden at the Arlington office in June.

Thank you in advance for joining us in Empowering our Neighbors in Need!
