360 Degrees of Giving

By Jeff Hale

One of the phrases we like to use when we talk about supporting Samaritan Ministry is “our donors generously give their time, talent and treasure.” That has never been more true than in the last year. Since the pandemic arrived, the needs of our community have been extreme, and so has the response of our donors. We’re fully aware that these times are creating uncertainty for almost everyone, and as dedicated and committed as our donors are, we were worried about the impact of the pandemic on our support. We were wrong. Government agencies and private foundations, aware of the critical work we are doing stepped forward with increased funding; our Partners used Zoom and got creative in other ways so that we had a very effective and successful Empower Our Neighbors in Need Campaign this past summer, especially with regard to in-kind donations. Finally, our individual donors really stepped in to fill the gap. We are still putting the final financial numbers together for 2020 we know that we raised a total of over $250,000 just in the month of December. Thank you!
