A Message to Samaritan Ministry Participants

I hope you are well and have stayed safe since the onset of this public health crisis!  SMGW recognizes that this is a time of great uncertainty for all of us, for our communities, and for the world. While it seems like things are changing every day as we battle this pandemic, we want you to know that SMGW’s commitment to you remains unchanged, and we are here to support you through this time.  Until further notice, we cannot see you in person as we have in ordinary times, however our caseworkers want to be in communication with you!

Please reach out to your lead caseworker to connect and tell them what you need.  They want to talk with you and so are trying to reach you as well!  Please also know that one time every week we are offering outreach from our NW DC, SE DC–Anacostia, and NoVa–Arlington offices, where we are handing out necessary items to participants on the front porch. At that time, you can pick up mail and/or other in-kind items you might need, such as toiletries, walking or canned food, gift cards and metro cards.  Just talk to your caseworker first, in advance of the day.  The schedule for that outreach is as follows:

  • NW-DC: Wednesdays, 2 – 4 p.m.
  • SE-Anacostia: Wednesdays, 10 a.m. – 12 noon
  • NoVa-Arlington: Thursdays, 9 a.m. – 12 noon

Just know that our caseworkers continue to work “behind the scenes” to improve our program and will be sending out to periodic emails to you, such as invitations to fill out the 2020 census, and to complete our participant satisfaction survey.  It is so important that we receive your feedback about how we’ve helped you, and how we might help even more in the future.  We are so grateful that you have chosen us to help you achieve your goals.

The names and numbers of each lead caseworker are below.  They stand ready to help you!  Until we meet again in person, stay safe and healthy.

On behalf of the SMGW team,

Jennifer Seager-Valentine, Program Director

Rev. David B. Wolf, Executive Director
