Partners

Samaritan Ministry of Greater Washington ("SMGW") could not survive without the support of our partner parishes.  SMGW has 50 Partner Parishes that provide a variety of resources, including “in-kind” gifts, volunteers, Board leadership, and financial support.  Our partner parishes help keep the lights on, provide reduced rent for our offices, enable us to assist our program participants with direct program expenses– such as transportation assistance, and clothing for job interviews, hygiene and food products, and the funding of employment related necessities such as purchasing identification cards and police clearances.

SMGW values the support of our partner parishes, donors and partner service providers. Together, we are improving the lives of those in need and empowering them to make positive changes, one step at a time.

Join Us!

Becoming a partner parish of Samaritan Ministry requires a commitment on the part of the parish to be in relationship, to be part of a community, and become involved in and support the ministry in many ways.

Parishes are expected to:

  • Appoint at least one (but preferably two) members of their congregation to serve as partner parish representatives. Representatives are expected to attend council meetings that take place five times per year.  The representative serves as the liasion, and an advocate for Samaritan Ministry within the parish.
  • Support Samaritan Ministry with prayers, an annual pledge of financial support, volunteers (in a variety of capacities), and with participation in Samaritan Ministry events and activities.

Contact our Executive Director, The Rev. David B. Wolf, for more information on becoming a partner parish at dwolf [at] samaritanministry.org or 202-722-2280x318.
